Host A Fundraiser for The SPATA Foundation
One penny or one thousand dollars, each cent makes a difference.
Step 1: Brainstorm an Idea
Start by thinking about what kind of fundraiser feels fun and meaningful for you and your community. Consider activities you enjoy, whether it’s a virtual challenge, a bake sale, a local event, or a creative twist on something familiar. It could be as simple as asking a local restaurant to host a Give Back night. Check out NORD's list of ideas.
Note: For RAFFLE fundraisers specifically, some states have rules against this type of fundraiser.

Step 2: Request Permission to use our Logo
We ask that you please request permission before using The SPATA Foundation's name, logo, or materials.
The SPATA Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization in the United States, which means donations to The SPATA Foundation are tax-exempt for US donors. We can provide a tax-receipt to those who make digital or check donations.
Step 4: Host and Send Funds
You can use our general donation link for your event, but if you decide to use a different method of collecting payments (cash, checks, other digital money apps), please send all money to The SPATA Foundation within 30 days of your event.

Past Fundraisers
Rare diseases are often overlooked when it comes to research and funding due to the small populations they serve. This means advocating for research and funding this research falls to the duty of the rare disease families and organizations.
We can't find a cure without your help. We will need MILLIONS of dollars, your VOICE, and your PARTICIPATION in research.
FUNDRAISER DAY FALL EVENT
A SPATA5 family in Kentucky hosted a fun fall fundraiser with live music, raffles, food, and inflatables, bringing their community together for a great cause. Their event raised an incredible $7,057—showing how creative, family-friendly fundraisers can make a real impact.
RAFFLE FUNDRAISER
A SPATA5 family collected donated items from local businesses for a prize fundraiser, raising $830 and creating a fun way for the community to give back. Since raffle laws vary by state, it’s important to check local rules or consider alternatives like auctions or drawings.
RESTAURANT GIVE BACK NIGHT
A SPATA5L1 family partnered with a local restaurant for a give-back night, where a portion of the evening’s sales supported their cause. The event brought the community together and raised $487 to help fund research and support for families affected by SPATA5 and SPATA5L1.
